The Seaman Lady Vikes Cross Country team just took on their second meet of the season Saturday, September 11. Four runners ran in the Seaman Junior Varsity race and all finished under 22 minutes.Freshman Jenna Wilderman finished in 12th place with a time of 18:52, coming in first for the Lady Vikes. Sophomore Carleigh Konrade finished in 30th place. Carleigh has been suffering a breathing injury since last Cross Country season and is still trying to over-come the pain. The last two Junior Varsity runners finished 44th and 59th out of 130 runners. Good job to the Junior Varsity runners last week!
As for the Varsity race, junior Ramsey McCarter finished 6th place with a time of 16:47. Right behind her was Tracy Lister with a final time of 18:32 and placed 29th place. The last two runners for Seaman placed 34th 41st. The Lady Vikes did not have an overall score since they only ran 4 Varsity runners. They will continue to improve and work hard to get better in their next meets to come.

Manhattan High School Invitation

Early Saturday morning, the Seaman girls cross country team had their first meet of the season. Since it was their first meet, Coach Brading decided to put the younger, inexperience girls on Junior Varsity so they could get their first feel of a high school cross country meet. Freshman, Jenna Wildeman took 15th place in the Junior Varsity race with a time of 19:01. The rest of the team finished the race within 3 minutes after Jenna. As a team, the junior varsity girls place 5th out of 8 teams.
The Seaman Vikes Varsity Cross Country team only had four runners run at Manhattan. They did not place a team score since they didn't have a total of 7 runners run in the Varsity race. Junior Ramsey McCarter finished 12th place with a time of 16:59. Tracy Lister came in behind her in 36th place with a time of 18:21. The last two Seaman runners finished 49th and 51st.
As a whole team, the Lady Vikes have a lot to improve on, but it can only go up from here. With many younger runners, the more experience they get the better off they will be.

Before the First Meet

This weekend on Saturday, September 4, the Lady Vikes girls cross country team will have their first meet of the season. They will be traveling to Manhattan where the meet will be held. A total of 13 teams will be competing in this 2.5 mile race. The Lady Vikes have a very young, inexperinced team this year, with only one senior and two juniors who have never ran Cross Country before. This first meet of the year will show the girls where they're positioned with other schools and what to work on. Good luck to the Seaman Lady Vikes in their first meet!
